This post follows on from the Visitors page on the church website in a Question and Answer format. Note that links given here are not clickable - you will need to copy and paste them into your internet browser.
Q) When are your services? A) Our Sunday morning service begins at 11:00am and ends around 12:10pm. Occasionally there are special Sunday Evening services which are always announced on the "News & Events" page of the website and in the church announcements.
Q) Where are you located? A) We are located right in Lisburn City Center. A picture is worth a thousand words, so for a visual representation in Google Maps, please visit the "About" page on our website for the link.
Q) Where can I park my car? A) Although we have a car park, it has a very limited capacity. If you are unable to find a space, you can park in various car parks near the church or along the roadside where suitable. Alongside the Linen Museum is an example. Other popular locations used by our members include: the Library car park behind the church (*until 1:00pm due to clamping measures*), Smithfield Square, or Laganbank Road car park. There is an informative website about the location of Lisburn car parks here: www.lisburnccm.co.uk/about/car_park_map.php
Q) What can First Lisburn offer me? A) First Lisburn is a vibrant congregation with many organisations, and there is something for everybody. For a full list of organisations, please visit the "Organisations" tab of the church website.
Q) What do you have for young children? A) After the first hymn and welcome, there is a Children's Address. At this point, children are invited to go to the front of the church - sitting on the front pew or on the floor - where they listen to the children's talk led by the minister. This is usually a story or other activity sometimes accompanied by video/pictures relating to what they will go on to look at in Sunday School. The congregation then sing a children's hymn, after which the children leave for Sunday School. All children are invited and new or visiting children will get an especially warm welcome! There are also separate classes for 1st - 3rd year (Yr 8 - Yr 10) each week which provide a more relaxed environment to accomodate the needs of young folk today. To view more about our Sunday School, please visit the "Organisations" tab of the church website, and select "Sunday School" from the left hand menu. Alternatively, you can contact Margaret Thompson, our Sunday School Co-ordinator by sending an email to sundayschool@firstlisburn.org
Q) What do you have for young people? A) We have an extrememly active Youth organisation at First Lisburn. We run a Sunday Evening programme called "FLY" - First Lisburn Youth for those in 1st - 5th year (Yr 8 - Yr 12) from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. There are games, dramas, discussion, and a tuck shop is available. We have a dedicated Youth Website - www.youth.firstlisburn.org - where you will be able to see more information including information about other Youth Programmes. Alternatively, you can contact Jen Simpson, our Youth Co-ordinator by sending an email to jen@firstlisburn.org
