History

Members of First Lisburn Church form part of Lisburn Cross Community Group.  This Group began in 1989 following the IRA bomb attack on the centre of Lisburn.  It was set up to promote mutual understanding and friendship between people from  different Christian traditions and to develop trust and an acceptance of diversity.

The Group has a membership of approximately 50 people and it meets monthly on alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Many issues are discussed, worship is shared and socializing together, at cultural events and at residential weekends, is a feature.  The Group aims to progress peacemaking and reconciliation amongst the local community.
